Center for Sleep Diagnostics

For an estimated 30 million Americans, sleep disorders such as sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, narcolepsy, and insomnia make what is meant to be a restful time extremely frustrating.

There are effective treatments available for most sleep disorders, but the first step is recognizing that a problem exists. In order to better diagnose sleep disorders in our community, Parkland Medical Center established the Center for Sleep Diagnostics.  Board certified neurologist Jeffrey Rind, M.D., Ph.D. and board certified pulmonologist Inna Kogan, M.D.,serve as Medical Directors of the Center which also includes pulmonologist Gregory Smull, M.D. and neurologist, George Neal, M.D. All are specialists in sleep disorders and offer sleep consultations for the proper diagnosis of patients.

If you are sleeping eight hours a night but still experiencing daytime drowsiness you should talk to their doctor about sleep habits. Common indicators of sleep disturbance include daytime drowsiness, snoring, excessive movement while sleeping, obesity, and hypertension. As many as 40 percent of otherwise healthy men and as many as 10 percent of women between the ages of 35 and 60 have a sleep disorder, but many are unaware that a problem exists.
